togooutoftheworldandliveinisolationseemedtouslikekillingthebestpartsofeachother;welovedthesightofeachotherengagedfinelyandcharacteristically,wekneweachotherbestasactivities。Wehadnodelusionsaboutmaterialfacts;wedidn\'twanteachotheraliveordead,wewantedeachotherfullyalive。Wewantedtodobigthingstogether,andforustotakeeachotheropenlyanddesperatelywouldleaveusnothingintheworldtodo。
Wewantedchildrenindeedpassionately,butchildrenwitheveryhelpfulchanceintheworld,andchildrenborninscandalwouldbehandicappedateveryturn。Wewantedtoshareahome,andnotasolitude。
