hadbeenheapingupmydevotionsbeforeGod,fasting,praying,etc。,pretending,andindeedreallythinkingsometimesthatIwasaimingatthegloryofGod;whereasIneveroncetrulyintendedit,butonlymyownhappiness。IsawthatasIhadneverdoneanythingforGod,Ihadnoclaimonanythingfromhimbutperdition,onaccountofmyhypocrisyandmockery。WhenIsawevidentlythatIhadregardtonothingbutself-interest,thenmydutiesappearedavilemockeryandacontinualcourseoflies,forthewholewasnothingbutself-worship,andanhorridabuseofGod。
