flownrapturesanddevotionalceremonieswithwhichhiswife，hischiefpriestess，treatedhim，firstsenthimtosleep，andthendrovehimoutofdoors;forthetruthmustbetold，thatmylordwasajollygentleman，withverylittleoftheaugustordivineinhisnature，thoughhisfondwifepersistedinreveringit——and，besides，hehadtopayapenaltyforthislove，whichpersonsofhisdispositionseldomliketodefray:and，inaword，ifhehadalovingwife，hadaveryjealousandexactingone。Thenheweariedofthisjealousy;thenhebrokeawayfromit;thencame，nodoubt，complaintsandrecriminations;then，perhaps，promisesofamendmentnotfulfilled;thenupbraidingsnotthemorepleasantbecausetheyweresilent，andonlysadlooksandtearfuleyesconveyedthem。
