  Therewastheyearherfatherdied;theyearsheleftSunnybrookFarmtocometoherauntsinRiverboro;theyearSisterHannahbecameengaged;theyearlittleMiradied;theyearAbijahFlaggceasedtobeSquireBean’schore-boy,andastoundedRiverborobydepartingforLimerickAcademyinsearchofaneducation;andfinallytheyearofhergraduation,which,tothemindofseventeen,seemsrathertheculminationthanthebeginningofexistence。
