  Theselatterwiresweresolderedtocopperplateswhichweretackedintopositiononhisshoesoles。Henowtookhispositioninthechairandplacedhisfeetoverthehiddentacks,whichnowcontactedhisshoeplates,completingthecircuit,sothatanythingwhisperedintothetelephoneonthestagewasrepeatedinhisear。

  This“priest“heldserviceshereforthefaithful。HeconductedallinHindoostani?,hisnativetongue。Hechanted,prayedtoBuddha,etc。,allinaqueer-sounding“gibberish。“Certaineveningsoftheweekweredevotedto“soul-travel,“andcertaineveningsafterthereligiousservicesa“BlackChapter“washeld。
