  Standardizationmeanseconomyatnearlyallpointsoftheprocessofsupplyinggoods,andatthesametimeitmeanscertaintyandexpeditionatneatlyallpointsinthebusinessoperationsinvolvedinmeetingcurrentwants。Besidesthis,thestandardizationofgoodsmeansthattheinterdependenceofindustrialprocessesisreducedtomoredefinitetermsthanbeforethemechanicalstandardizationcametoitspresentdegreeofelaboratenessandrigor。Themarginofadmissiblevariation,intime,place,form,andamount,isnarrowed。Materials,toanswertheneedsofstandardizedindustry,mustbedrawnfromcertainstandardsourcesatadefiniterateofsupply。Henceanygivendetailindustrydependscloselyonreceivingitssuppliesfromcertain,relativelyfew,industrialestablishmentswhoseworkbelongsearlierintheprocessofelaboration。Anditmasimilarlydependoncertainother,closelydefined,industrialestablishmentsforaventofitsownspecializationandstandardizationproduct。7*Itmaylikewisedependinastrictmanneronspecialmeansoftransportation。
