  Whenitwasgettingnearmidnightheheardthemorderinghimtoopenthedoor,andtherewerethreeofthemforeveryonethattherehadbeenthepreviousevening。Hedidnotmaketheslightestmovementtogoouttothemortoopenthedoor,butbeforelongtheybrokeitup,andwereinontopofhim。Theylaidholdofhim,andkeptthrowinghimbetweenthemuptotheceiling,orjumpingabovehim,untilthecockcrew,whentheyalldisappeared。WhendaycamethePrincesswenttotheroomtoseeifhewasstillalive,andtakingthebottleputittohisnostrils,whichsoonbroughthimtohimself。Thefirstthinghesaidthenwasthathewasafooltogoongettinghimselfkilledforanyoneheeversaw,andwasdeterminedtobeoffandstaytherenolonger,WhenthePrincesslearnedhisintentionsheentreatedhimtostay,remindinghimthatanothernightwouldfreeherfromthespell。’Besides,’shesaid,’ifthereisasinglesparkoflifeinyouwhenthedaycomes,thestuffthatisinthisbottlewillmakeyouassoundaseveryouwere。’
