  ’Doyoureallyimagine,bravesonoftheearth,thatyoucanpluckanapplesoeasilyfromtheTreeoftheSun?Beforeyoucandothat,youhaveadifficulttaskbeforeyou。Youmustguardthetreeforninedaysandninenightsfromtheravagesoftwowildblackwolves,whowilltrytoharmit。Doyouthinkyoucanundertakethis?’

  ’Yes,’answeredtheSun-Hero,’IwillguardtheTreeoftheSunninedaysandninenights。’

  Thenthegirlcontinued:’Remember,though,ifyoudonotsucceedtheSunwillkillyou。Nowbeginyourwatch。’

  WiththesewordstheRedGirlwentbackintothegoldencastle。
