  Ishouldthinktherewasscarcelyanotherhumanbeingwithsosmallastockoflanguage,forhisEnglishwasveryimperfect。Itwaslaughable,butalmostpitiable,tohearhimspeaktohiswildbrotherinEnglish,andthenaskhiminSpanish“nosabe?”whetherhedidnotunderstandhim。
