Everytroopthatemigratesoneyear,drawsanotherafteritthenext。Thus,insteadofcostingIrelandanything,emigrationformsoneofthemostlucrativebranchesofitsexporttrade。Finally,itisasystematicprocess,whichdoesnotsimplymakeapassinggapinthepopulation,butsucksoutofiteveryyearmorepeoplethanarereplacedbythebirths,sothattheabsolutelevelofthepopulationfallsyearbyyear。[125]
