  Onthewhole,thestagevillainappearstoustobearatherbadlyusedindividual。Heneverhasany\"estates\"orpropertyhimself,andhisonlychanceofgettingonintheworldistosneakthehero’s。Hehasanaffectionatedisposition,andneverhavinganywifeofhisownheiscompelledtoloveotherpeople’s;buthisaffectioniseverunrequited,andeverythingcomeswrongforhimintheend。
